SUMMARY:WKO Asientag 2020 Workshop - Sourcing: ASEAN vs China
DESCRIPTION:Themen:\n\nChina Plus One in Practice\nFrom “Buy Cheap” to “Buy Well”\nZalando: Sourcing in the E-Commerce Era\n\n  \nDer Handelskonflikt zwischen den Vereinigten Staaten und China hat die Diskussion über die Zukunft und Nachhaltigkeit des Konzepts „China – Die Werkbank der Welt“ neu belebt. 63 | 1040 Wien\n\nDie Teilnahme an diesem Workshop ist kostenpflichtig und ausschließlich nach verbindlicher Anmeldung möglich (“First Come – First Serve”). SUMMARY:CCI France SME Working Group
DESCRIPTION:Are You Ready for the Corporate Social Credit System?\nThe Corporate Social Credit System is envisioned as a big-data-enabled framework to track\, rate\, and reward/penalise the behaviour of all businesses in China.  With its full implementation officially scheduled for the end of 2020\, businesses in China are worried about its possible implications. SUMMARY:China +1: The Pros and Cons of China's Sourcing Alternatives
DESCRIPTION:The cost advantage that turned China into the world’s factory has declined over the last decade. Labour costs\, which were one-tenth of those in the US in 2005\, are now about one-third. This\, combined with rising indirect costs\, environmental regulations and\, more recently\, the Sino-US trade war\, has prompted global companies and their suppliers to look for cheaper alternatives. \nBut rather than a large-scale\, cross-industry migration of global supply chains out of China\, what we’re seeing are small-scale\, industry-specific shifts. Most companies are looking to complement\, rather than replace\, their China sourcing. \nIn this seminar\, we take a closer look at the advantages and bottlenecks that alternative sourcing markets in Asia offer for specific industries\, and we analyse China’scompetitiveness as a sourcing market in a world where “buying well” is becoming just as important as “buying cheap”. \nSpeaker\n \nMarshall Chen\, Partner at Fiducia Management Consultants \nAs the head of Fiducia’s China Consulting Team\, Marshall has 15 years’ experience in providing multinational clients with cutting-edge market intelligence and strategic advice to support their growth in the Chinese market. His expertise ranges from conducting in-depth market studies (market mapping\, competitor benchmarking\, cost-competitive analysis\, demand analysis) to strategy formulation for market entry and growth\, as well as M&A support. Marshall has extensive experience in supporting clients from various industries\, including plastics\, machinery and medical devices. \n

SUMMARY:Getting Ready for the Corporate Social Credit System
DESCRIPTION:CBBC and Fiducia are pleased to invite you to our first joint event on Corporate Social Credit System and HR compliance. \nBack in April\, the Communist Party’s Central Committee rolled out a plan for a single\, all-encompassing database which is the Corporate Social Credit System (CSCS) that would include every company’s records (from utility bills to tax payments) and would reward or sanction businesses accordingly. One of the main concerns of international companies today is the lack of clarity that still clouds the CSCS and its implementation. In this workshop\, we will use case studies to share the practical and most up-to-date insights to help you prepare for the CSCS. \nHR Compliance would also be discussed\, as many companies have raised the question of whether employers should keep track of their staff’s personal ratings too. In the second part of our workshop\, we will focus on HR best practices in the context of the CSCS\, touching on topics such as employment contracts\, employee transfers\, and staff background checks. \nAgenda\n13:30 – 14:00 Registration\n14:00 – 14:05 Welcome Remarks from CBBC\n14:05 – 14:10 Opening Remarks from Fiducia\n14:10 – 15:00 Speech 1: Getting Ready for the Corporate Social Credit System (CSCS)\nHudson He\, Finance and Accounting Manager\, Fiducia\n15:00 – 15:15 Tea Break\n15:15 – 15:55 Speech 2: HR Best Practices in the Context of the CSCS\nTorsten Lill\, Project Manager Executive Search\, Fiducia\n15:55 – 16:00 Closing Remarks\n16:00 Free Discussion and Event Finishes \nSpeakers:\n \nMr. Hudson He\, Accounting Manager – China Finance and Accounting\, Shanghai \nHudson is an accounting manager at Fiducia. SUMMARY:Welthandel im Wandel
SUMMARY:Sourcing Round Table 2019 - Shanghai
DESCRIPTION:Together with our German consulting partner h&z\, we are pleased to invite you to the sixth annual Sourcing Roundtable in Shanghai. \nE-commerce\, the “on-demand” economy\, and a host of other disruptive forces are reshaping global supply chains. They are also forcing trading companies and buying offices to ask themselves: how can we remain relevant and profitable in the long run? \nThis year’s discussions will centre around three pressing challenges faced by those sourcing from China: \n\nChina + 1: China remains the go-to sourcing destination for most\, but finding a “+1” has become imperative. Which sourcing markets are emerging as a real alternative?\nCustomer-centricity: Increasingly\, those who cater to consumers’ demand for speed\, customisation\, and sustainability thrive. How can middlemen drive and monetise customer centricity?\nTechnology: While some emerging technologies help to unlock profitability and optimise the cost-value relationship\, others can be seen as “smoke and mirrors”. SUMMARY:Online oder Offline – aktuelle Herausforderungen beim Vertrieb in China
SUMMARY:China’s Green Shift: Environmental Regulations And Their Impacts For Foreign Businesses
DESCRIPTION:Reducing pollution is one of the three “battles” which China’s government has pledged to fight over the next few years. Since 2017\, the central government has taken unprecedented action against environmentally non-compliant businesses and government officials\, displaying enough political muscle to prove its point: China’s green push is here to stay. \nOur upcoming event “China’s Green Shift” will shed light on what this green shift means for foreign companies in China and how they should adapt. Marshall Chen\, China Consulting Manager at Fiducia Management Consultants and Samuel Sabasteanski\, Senior Consultant at North Head\, will discuss how businesses who adapt sooner rather than later\, and do so with a systematic and strategic approach\, will be able to ensure compliance\, minimise the cost burden\, and turn sustainability into a source of competitive advantage. \nKey Topics: \n\nAir pollution levels in the biggest cities in China and the comparison with the national standards\nEnvironmental protection tax and it means for the foreign businesses\nChina’s green tech market and new growth opportunities\nEnvironmental health check\nPlastic waste: Policymakers’ and consumers’ growing attention towards reducing plastic waste\, and how businesses are capitalizing on this trend\n\n  \nTo RSVP\, please email events@austcham.org
